    The Tabernacle W11 Ltd are currently looking for a Duty Manager for a vibrant Arts Venue based in Notting Hill. Consisting of a dance studio, meeting room, music room and large theatre space, our venue is at the heart of its community and is the perfect setting for all kinds of events. We hold dance classes, team away days, live music, theatre plays and film/tv recording; Adele, Russell Brand, James Blunt, and Emily Sande are but a few names we have had the pleasure of hosting in our Theatre space over the years.

    The Venue’s bar & restaurant is at the centre of our daily operations; as duty manager you will ensure the safe, smooth, and efficient day to day running of this department.

    Your daily tasks and duties will include:

    • Being a responsible key holder; opening and closing the building in accordance with our set procedures.

    • To carry out a full fire safety check of the entire building at the start of each shift and immediately action any areas of concern. Training will be provided.

    • Working with the General Manager and the Events Manager to ensure the building complies with all health and safety and licensing policies.

    • To support the in-house technician and clients to ensure all hired spaces are safe and presentable pre and post hire.

    • To be responsibility for the calm and efficient evacuation of the venue, adhering to our evacuation procedure in the event of an emergency.

    • To take lead role in the managing of incidents and emergencies whilst on duty.

    • Day to day supervision of the front of house staff, including managing team roles and breaks whilst on shift, motivating staff and monitoring performance.

    • To liaise with the Head chef and manage the staff on duty to ensure excellent customer service and the smooth running of the bar and restaurant operations.

    • End of day banking, including allocating and recording petty cash

    The ideal candidate will have diverse hospitality experience, strong knowledge of front and back of house operations, a keen eye for detail and experience managing a team of staff. They must be able to organise their time and communicate effectively with both clients and staff to deliver the best service possible.

    You will be collaborating with a small team of enthusiastic individuals, and two other Duty Managers on a 5-shift pattern, Monday to Sunday. The shift pattern will be influenced by events, and mainly the bar & restaurant’s requirements.
