Group Singing Practice Workshop
Mondays 6 - 8pm
These 2 hour weekly sessions are where adult learners have an opportunity to come together on a regular basis and work on building song repertoire, singing mostly contemporary songs styles. These sessions will start with breathing and vocal warm up exercises followed by harmony work then incorporating these skills through working on popular songs, which will be built upon over the weeks. There will be opportunities for those that are more confident to sing lead vocals. Additional benefits are to socialise and meet other people with similar interests.
Prices: £8 per session (conc £5), and free for One Voice members (although donations welcome).

Kids Singing Workshop
Mondays 5 - 6pm
These weekly session give kids the chance to explore and control their singing voice, develop their skills and abilities, and at the same time helping to bring out their natural creativity to develop their confidence to perform.
The kids are introduced to some basic techniques to develop, strengthen and control their voice, and help build an awareness of the discipline involved with singing, yet at the same time keeping these exercises fun and enjoyable. They learn songs from contemporary music styles, which they then perform as a group. The additional benefits are learning to work as part of a team.
Price: £5 per session (conc £3).

BIO
Emzee is an experienced professional vocalist of the highest caliber who hails from a musical family. Her dad DON HAYWOODE is the legendary vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer & arranger who gained critical acclaim with THE VELOURS, an American touring band whose first tour was with RAY CHARLES. Don went on to write their first No.1 hit ‘CAN I COME OVER TONIGHT’.
Don Haywoode arrived in London in the early 60’s with the group THE FANTASTICS and scored a massive hit and their ‘SOMETHING OLD SOMETHING NEW’.
Emzee has worked extensively with an impressive array of high caliber artists including BO DIDDLEY, DR JOHN, MTUME, HUGH MASEKALA, OSIBISA, HERBIE HANCOCK, JOOLS HOLLAND, BARRY WHITE, PAUL WELLER, LOU RAWLS, & CASSANDRA WILSON. She was also very active as a session musician and recording artist and was eventually signed to RCA records.
Emzee’s influences and training is derived directly from the Doo Wop and street corner harmony tradition. She utilizes those techniques in her approach to teaching. Emzee is a versatile and rounded musician who imparts an enormous amount of her learned skills into her teaching.
